So now here's the plan or Non Period Damage Control 'Twas
two days before Christmas and all through the house
Not a stocking was found Pro'lly due to some damn mouse... 12/23/09 Ever get that sinking feeling right before the Holdiays? Ever wonder why it's not a good diea to put things off- like Christmas decorating and children's happiness- to the last minute. Ever have to save something you really don't like, but are doing it anyways becuase it's the right thing to do? Christmas and I have never really had a good relationship. Now that I have children I've had to develope a solid working relationship with this holdiay. Certain social traditions like Christmas cookies left for Santa I now have to endure with a smile on my otherwise grinchy face for the sake of the children. Ok, it's not that bad since we tossed the idea out of cookies. This year Santa gets a peanut butter cheescake and quality time with my wife after the lights go out... It's good the be the 'Clause.... Anyway, so we we're out looking for all the basics and found- or more appropriately didn't find- the stockings. Well damn. See, we usually have the children's, ours and a abunch of loner stockings for friends and family who show up for the holidays. Suprise supirse, they were no where to be found. So I get it in my head that i'm going to make them. It's only two, right? Nope. The number is actually closer to six. But thats ok...why? My secret weapon! The Cabbage Patch! Thats what I call my bags of fabric scraps from various projects. Garuntee that the wife will never complain about those scraps again! Whelp- off to work. I'll keep y'all updated on how it's going... |
